The tree in the pot represents the grave of the two people; however, it is also the grave of their love. Back in old China, parents assigned marriage partners to their children. Children had no freedom to love. The green snakes swirling around the branches represent freedom. The stone road leads to darkness. The couple cannot see their future.

MU, in Chinese, can mean the tree and can also the grave. I was inspired by the Chinese traditional horror style and painted this on an old, large wooden board. Paint/pigment/mediums to be discussed
