The story of this piece started in a small mysterious community in mid-century Europe. Trees were treated as another kind of sacred entity with all of their metaphysical, as well as physical, manifestations. People danced and worshipped around the tree; they believed in the power of nature. So do I.

I used charcoal to create the shadows of people dancing around the tree and explore the motion among figures. Then I used acrylic paint to create contrast and fine structures of objects. The whole drawing presents very strong energy, but this ritual is done in silence – a contrast with the chaos and the spirit.
